SkyDrive is now OneDriveAbout a month ago, Microsoft lost a lawsuit with a British pay-TV broadcasting company over the use of the name SkyDrive. SkyDrive, for those who didn’t already know, was Microsoft’s cloud storage service that is also built in to their cloud productivity software suite, Office365, similar to Google’s Drive. Because of the lost lawsuit, Microsoft has recently announced the rebranding of the service to OneDrive.

Some customers may still see the SkyDrive Pro name on their Office365 accounts, but soon it will all be OneDrive (for personal use) and OneDrive for Business (for business use).

More details on the lawsuit, the rebranding, and some possible future implications can be found in this Tech Republic article.
